Safety and security with DTL
Safety and security refers to the protection of life and limb, and also of goods, buildings, handling yards, vehicles and transfer points. Our guiding principle is that no employee may suffer harm of any kind and that our customers’ goods must have the best-possible protection. With these objectives in mind, DTL has implemented comprehensive safety and security measures in all its areas of activity.

Employee safety and the security of our sites and the goods that we handle are our top priorities.
Reliable transport
Our system imposes an obligation to count items and scan them in at each interface point. This scanning system maintains a verifiable log of any and all anomalies detected. Long-distance shipping makes exclusive use of sealed, transferable containers. These routes are also monitored by the scanning system. These transferable containers are scanned in at each interface point, where their seal numbers are also read. Our damage quota of just one in 10,000 items makes us market leaders in this respect. But we are still not satisfied and are working to make this figure even better. At all times.

Health and safety/fire prevention
Each one of our sites has a safety officer with responsibility for ensuring employees’ well-being in this respect. The safety officer carries out regular inspections to ensure that employee safety and goods security measures are being observed correctly.
Comprehensive checklists help to ensure that all relevant factors are properly verified. Full inspections are also carried out to verify the state of ladders, fire escapes and firefighting and other emergency equipment with a view to implementing any improvement measures that might be required. Each site naturally has a doctor on hand to deal with emergencies.
Depot security
All DTL depots are equipped with perimeter fences or walls and permanent CCTV monitoring. All building access points are protected by alarms. The security of sites and buildings is subject to internal audits, which are then verified by our insurers.
Liability
DTL accepts liability in accordance with the current ADSp guidelines. Please note that legislation establishes certain exclusions with respect to liability. The shipper is not responsible, for example, for “unavoidable events”. It is for this reason that we offer our customers transport insurance (TVS) at very favourable rates. Despatch guidelines
We handle your goods as if they were fresh eggs. There are nevertheless certain risks to be taken into account. It is, therefore, extremely important to minimise these risks by following DTL’s despatch guidelines.
