Trace & Track

Recycling of packaging materials and clothes hangers

As logistics specialists for the fashion and lifestyle sector, we know that the environmentally sustainable disposal of packaging materials and clothes hangers is a time-consuming task for retailers. We also want recyclable materials and reusable hangers to be put back into circulation. That is why we have developed a simple solution for this complex task:

We simply take packaging materials and reusable clothes hangers straight back after delivery.

One delivery, all services - the principle is as simple as it sounds for our customers in the retail sector: Our delivery drivers load recyclable materials and packaging straight back onto the vehicle. No wasted time, no need to arrange extra visits.

DTL Recycling

DTL hanger recycling

DTL has been offering its retail customers a clothes hanger recycling service for many years. Reusable black hangers and transparent multiuse hangers (SKRS system) are put straight back into circulation. We ensure the eco-friendly handling of recyclable materials.

Working in cooperation with customers, manufacturers and our partners in the recycling industry, we are able to recirculate or make further use of some 3.5 million clothes hangers every year. This delivers raw material savings of 120 to 140 metric tons per year.

DTL foil recycling

As far back as 1996, DTL began to cooperate with manufacturers, dealers, the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück (Germany) and the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU) on a pilot project involving the recycling of foil materials used for transport purposes.

The procedure allows all mixed foil materials used for textile shipping purposes to be recycled directly into new material. The amounts being processed have become so great that foil recycling is now handled by an independent partner organisation. The result: The environment is relieved of having to deal with some 48,000 cubic metres of foil material annually.
